Organized 1917
"The holiest of all holidays are those
Kept by ourselves in silence and apart;
The secret anniversaries of the heart."
-Henry W. Longfellow
The Arab Patrol has a reason to celebrate a "holy" holiday - the observance of Alzafar's Golden Anniversary. Of course, the main credit belongs to the Nobles who founded Alzafar Temple and to the rank and file who helped keep it working for the advancement of Shrinedom.
The Alzafar Arab Patrol was founded in 1917 under past president, the former H. W. Weber who held this post until 1920. The only other noble to hold this office for more than one term was former F. Fletcher who held the post in 1922 and again in 1926. In 1923 the Patrol was dissolved but has been in continuous service since 1924 when it was again resumed. At the present time there are twenty-one living past presidents.
The present officers of the Patrol are Nobles: Marvin V. Johnston, President; Raymond A. Fuller, Vice President; Jack 0. Dietz, Secretary; John H. Achilles, Treasurer; and Joseph M. Clark, Captain.
